Helmuth-Gebhard and Filip Piccolruaz Here are two true artistic personalities formed by the ancient tradition of Woodcarving Art in Gröden which was handed down over the generations. It is a symbiotic cooperation between father and son who through their close association over the years have reached the best possible result in mutual creativity.

A solid base of the craft coupled with academic studies of art have enabled them to reach excellent results while continuing to express their distinct individuality in their works. This cooperation is practical for their for mutual inspiration as well as technical reasons when working on larger objects of art. Over the years, many well known churches in Italy and Germany have been supplied with PiccolruazesŒ works such as wood carved structures for the big Organ of the San Girolamo Church in the Vatican (an order placed by the Holy Pope John Paul II), a Procession Crucifix and a Crucifixion Group for the Speyer Dome, a Via Crucis for the St.Ludwig Church in Ludwigshafen, a representation of “Jesus in the Wine Press House³ for the Sacred-Heart-of-Jesus Convent of Neustadt, a big baroque style Nativity for Hadamar near Limburg (all in Germany) as well as various solutions for altar rooms and church furnitures. In addition to works in the religious field, we also specialize in non-religious art such as portraying [and nudes].



Typically, all designs from our workshops are our own creations, and our preferred materials include predominately wood and bronze although we also work in stone and other materials.
